The newcomer playing for the first time in the series Labuschagne gave Harris good support and the lunch pair added 56 runs together, but when they started looking good Jadeja claimed his bunny Harris just after lunch for a well made 79, following that Jadeja and Kuldeep kept on exploiting the Aussies technique against spin and keep striking on regular intervals.

Handscomb and Cummins added unbeaten 38 runs together which was then affected by bad light and heavy rains that ended days play with 16.3 overs left to bowl giving Australia some ray of hope of saving the test.
